Routines aren’t just for dancing! During this time of COVID-19 many of us (parents and kids) are working from home. While we are able to work at our own pace and on our time it is more important now to keep a routine. Habits are built from what we do daily so the same way practice sharpens our abilities, routines sharpen our focus.
Keep the habit of getting up just the same as if you were going to work or school. Shower, brush your teeth, get dressed for the day, eat breakfast and prepare what you will work on for the day. This stay home/shut down wont last forever and while we are waiting to return to our regularly scheduled lives we don’t want to lose the everyday routine we were following. Whether we were trying to drink more water, exercise, personal development, school work, or work from home, all of these things need to be in constant practice just the same.
Here are some benefits to having a routine:
1. Time Management: We don’t need to plan we know we should be following our school or work schedule as if we were still physically still going.
2. Keeps our lives structured and gives us purpose. When you wake up a get ready for the day you are more likely to complete what you set out to do.
3. Repetition allows us to focus thereby creating good habits and helps to break bad ones
4. Healthy Balance: Following your work break and school lunch break schedule keeps you from snacking and eating all day
5. Increases self confidence the more you continue to do something the easier and faster you will get through it
Remember Success Is Intentional!
Best Wishes to You!
